Susan was a local Cable Television Manager for 20 years. She is also a business Owner of Veinot’s Print Limited, former Municipal Councillor for the Region of Queens Municipality for 16 years. Deputy Mayor for 2- year appointment. Sat on the Advisory Committee of Queens Place Emera Centre, South Shore Libraries Board, Economic Development Committee, Finance Committee, and various other ad-hoc committees of council
Susan is currently semi-retired. Owner of Sumac Marketing and CJQC Radio, local station. Involved in various local organizations and committees including Queens Care Society/Affordable Housing Initiative, Friends of Hank Snow Centre Society, Queens Recreational Boating Association, Deacon of Liverpool United Baptist Church, Board member Queens Aquatic Society, and Queens Community Dog Park Association. Former member of South Shore Housing Action Coalition.
Board Member, Community Engagement Committee
As a social work professional, Lorna had a 30-year career with the Province of Nova Scotia, Department of Community Services, in a variety of positions, retiring in a leadership role as the Director of Disability Services. Most recently, appointed Interim CEO of Riverview Enhanced Living, a community and residential based program for adults with disabilities.
Lorna also has extensive experience in developing inclusive and community-based programs and residential settings for children, youth, and adults with disabilities. Current volunteer work includes Vice-President of the Liverpool Curling Club, active member of the Liverpool Golf Club, and former VON Community Member and Queens Care Society
Board Member, Treasurer
Kellie has a history of volunteering with children’s programs for low-income families (sports, and day programs), animal rescues, and various fundraising initiatives in the community. Kellie is the Chair of the Stuff Fund Committee of Queens Manor, an avid Queens Manor volunteer with the residents and fundraising activities. Kellie has been spotted a time or two manning the kettles for the Salvation Army to help with food and gifts at Christmas time for those in need.
Board Member, Community Engagement Committee
Randi worked as a Registered Nurse, practiced nursing for over ten years in a variety of acute care clinical units including cardiovascular surgery unit during the initial open heart surgery period. Randi then became the first Director of Care at Queens Manor, a newly opened 60 bed Long Term Care Home. Continued in the role for 27 years, experiencing positive advancements in gerontology and care of senior populations and/or those with chronic illness and disability. Dementia Care, Restorative Care, Palliative Care, Medical Care, Holistic Care were significant in meeting the daily needs residents. Responsible for Team Management in Resident Care and Staffing Leadership including operational tasks associated with scheduling, budgeting, recruitment, and retention.
At Veterans Affairs, Randi utilized a national certification in gerontology to perform Client Home Assessments. This position identified the needs of Veterans, value of family caregivers, access to health system, living outside formal organizations and the importance of community supports.
Randi also served as an Elected Region of Queens Municipal Councillor for a 4-year term.
Randi has also volunteered with VON Community Board of Directors, Queens Refugee Team (Syrian family), Zion United Church, Queens Care Society/Affordable Housing Initiative, Seaside Recreation & Community Centre Board Director.
Board Member, President, Funding Committee
Patti’s human resource career was spent in the private and public sector, predominantly in the fields of employee relations, diversity and inclusion, employee engagement and learning and development. Public sector leadership experience has been in healthcare, transportation and culture and heritage, often participating in special projects for public service renewal and strategy development such as workplace flexibility and building an Office for Workplace Mental Health for employees in the provincial government.
Patti’s volunteer work began with disadvantaged youth, participating regionally and nationally on Boys and Girls Clubs boards. Retiring in 2018, joined the board of Queens Care Society who look after the best interests of our elderly population in Queens County, including the Affordable Housing Initiative. Also, a trustee of the Queens General Hospital Foundation, a volunteer-led organization dedicated to the health of our residents.
Board Member, Secretary, Building Committee
Henris is retired from a 35-year career as a registered physiotherapist in various provinces and the high north, Henri has had an inside look at the challenging home conditions many face. The last decade was spent as the community therapist in Queens County which demonstrated firsthand the difficulties our seniors face trying to stay in their homes.
Henri served on the boards of the London Ontario Track Three Association (Disabled skiing), the Canadian Physiotherapy Neurosciences Division and the Queens Family Resource Centre. Currently a member of Queens Care Society/Affordable Housing Initiative. Henri’s life experiences, professionally and with an invisible disability, have enabled better knowledge of the wide range of resources available to manage mobility and other challenges.

Building Committee
Eric is an entrepreneur who brings years of operational, technical and sales experience in fiber optics and telecommunications in NS and ON, business ownership, sales, and technical support of test equipment in the fiber op and telecommunications field.
Eric also has held various positions with an industrial condo corporation. In recent years, Eric has been repurposing old buildings into modern apartments. Eric is also a volunteer VON driver.
Building Committee
Horace worked with Nova Scotia Power Commission in different divisions for 15 years – applying his drafting certification in construction, drafting and inspections. Returned to Liverpool 45 years ago, purchasing the family business and expanded from a 1000 sq ft store to a multi-business 15000 sq ft location.
Horace also purchased Bain Real Estate Ltd. And worked as an agent and manager. He was also a chief motorcycle safety training instructor for the province of Nova Scotia. Horace has a wealth of prior volunteer board experience and appointments include Commission of Oaths for the Province of Nova Scotia; Past President of the Medway River Salmon Association, and a Director with the Small Business Development Corporation of Nova Scotia; Hank Snow Museum; South Shore Real Estate Board; Queens County Social Services Board; Queens County Airport Board, and Queens County School Board.
Policy Committee
Janice spent over 30 years in the not-for-profit sector, the majority of which as Executive Director of a professional association representing senior municipal staff of all municipalities in Nova Scotia. Under Janice’s leadership, the Association provided tools and resources to municipalities in the areas of policy and administration. Regular dealings with municipalities and the Department of Municipal Affairs and Housing allowed Janice to gain insight into the issues facing communities in Nova Scotia. She led the development of education and training programs on leadership, financial management, governance, inclusion, as well as managed the coordination of over 50 conferences. In the ED role, Janice has helped develop and manage programs in workplace wellness and mental health and website development for municipalities. Janice has served on numerous municipal/provincial policy committees and participated in many projects and programs to help improve municipal administration and policy across the province.
Committee Member
Jack has been serving the constituents of Queens County as a Region of Queens Councillor for over ten years, and this past year as Deputy Mayor. During that time, participated in the South Shore Housing group as well as the Municipal/Provincial Housing group.
Jack has been dedicated to our community throughout his career. He worked with the local food bank for over five years, is a member of the Baptist church and is presently sitting on the StFX extension housing group. He joined the Queens Care Society/Affordable Housing Initiative in 2022 to become part of an action group that will make a difference to constituents.
