Land Acknowledgment

Queens Neighbourhood Co-operative Housing would like to acknowledge that the land on which we are building our housing project is on the traditional territory of Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. We recognize their stewardship of the land and their enduring relationship with it. We also acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past and present and commit to working together to build a better future for all.

Queens Neighbourhood Co-operative Housing also acknowledges that people of African descent have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years, and we honour and offer gratitude to those ancestors of African descent who came before us to this land.
