QNCH Lawrence Street Project Featured as National Co-operative Housing Case Study
Queens Neighbourhood Co‑operative Housing Ltd. is proud to share that the Lawrence Street Project has been featured by CHF Canada as a national case study highlighting new co-operative housing funded through the Co-operative Housing Development Program administered by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
This recognition highlights the work being done in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, to create new affordable homes through the co-operative housing model. The Lawrence Street development will bring much-needed housing to the community while demonstrating how local leadership, community collaboration, and federal housing programs can come together to make new co-operative housing possible.
The case study outlines the journey of the project — from early community organizing and planning, to securing funding and partnerships that allowed the initiative to move forward. It also reflects the dedication of volunteers, partners, and supporters who have worked tirelessly to address housing needs in Queens County.
Being featured nationally by CHF Canada places the Lawrence Street Project among a group of innovative co-operative housing initiatives across the country that are helping expand the co-op housing sector and create long-term, community-focused housing solutions.
At QNCH, we believe co-operative housing plays a vital role in building stable, affordable, and inclusive communities, and we are proud to see the Lawrence Street Project recognized as part of this national effort.
Stay tuned for updates as progress continues on Lawrence Street!
